Inositol is a key cell membrane component and messenger in our neurocommunication system that signals release of serotonin and norepinephrine. It also triggers other cell functions related to glucose and fat metabolism. Controlled studies using several grams of inositol daily have shown a positive benefit on mood and emotional stability in specific clinical applications. For maximum flexibility in adjusting daily intake, each 1/4-teaspoon of powder contains 700 mg of pure crystalline inositol with no added ingredients.
